The
CPA design changes primarily affect only
the back side of
the cheque, so the
only change to the front of the above laser cheque stock is the addition of
the Maple Leaf Symbol in place of the usual
Padlock Icon in the lower right corner of the cheque, which denotes that the cheque is CPA
compliant (Canadian) as opposed to
ANSI
compliant (American).
The backer of the CPA
Cheque Line has several changes, including the addition
of a Teller Stamp area, the Maple Leaf Symbol in place
of the Padlock Icon, and the word “Back” printed in both
English
and French. The most noticeable difference
on the new Canadian Cheque Stock is that all of the
information is printed “portrait”, meaning that one can
easily read it without turning the cheque sideways.
On American cheques, the Endorsement area and other
printed information are laid out in a “landscape”
format.
